Effect of nano-urea supplementation on yield attributes, yield and economics of linseed (Linum usitatissimum L.)

International Journal of Research in Agronomy · 2024 · Vol. 7(12S) · pp. 275–278

Abstract

An investigation on Effect of nano-urea supplementation on yield attributes, yield and economics of linseed (Linum usitatissimum L.) was carried out consecutively for two years i.e. Rabi season of 2021-22 and 2022-23 at Research-cum-Instructional Farm, Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya Raipur (C.G.). The treatments comprised with four N levels i.e. F1: 100% N, F2: 75% N, F3: 50% N and F4: 25% N in main plot and five foliar sprays of nitrogen viz. N1: No spray, N2: One spray of nano-urea @ 3 ml liter-1 at flower initiation stage, N3: Two sprays of nano-urea @ 3 ml liter-1 each at flower initiation stage and capsule development stage, N4: One spray of 2% urea at flower initiation stage and N5: Two sprays of 2% urea at flower initiation and capsule development stage were taken in sub-plot. The design used was split plot design with two replications. Linseed variety RLC-92 was taken as test crop. The results showed that the highest value of yield attributes viz., number of capsules plant-1 (65.44), number of seeds capsule-1 (8.23), test weight (7.19 g), seed yield (18.40 q ha-1), stover (24.95 q ha-1), oil (676 kg ha-1) and economics; net return (Rs. 71020 ha-1), B:C ratio (3.03) of linseed was recorded with treatment F1: 100% N, whereas significantly highest value of HI was noted with F4: 25% N. In foliar sprays of nitrogen, treatment N5: Two sprays of 2% urea at flower initiation and capsule development stage resulted in significantly more numbers of capsules plant-1, highest value of test weight, seed yield, stover yield and oil yield with maximum net return (Rs. 67703 ha-1) and B:C ratio (2.94).
