Biological studies of isolated triterpenoids and phenolic compounds identified from Wodyetia bifurcata family Arecaceae

Abstract

The chromatographic investigation of the aerial parts of Wodyetia bifurcata (family Arecaceae) revealed the presence of I²-Amyrin, lupeol, apigenin, kaempferol, p- hydroxyl benzoic acid and gallic acid that isolated for first time from Wodyetia bifurcata and their structures are elucidated by different spectroscopic techniques as UV, 1H-NMR, 13 C-NMR and EI/MS spectra. The biological activities of different plant extracts are tested for anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and cytotoxicity.
