Effect of plant spacing and fertigation on growth of chilli type Keshori local
Abstract
The experiment entitled ‘‘Effect of plant spacing and fertigation on growth of chilli type Keshori local.’’ was carried at RFRS, Katol, District Nagpur in 2024-2025. Variety Keshori is studied under this experiment. The experiment was laid out in Factorial Randomized Block Design with twelve treatment combinations replicated thrice. The treatments comprised of four levels of plant spacing viz., S1- 60cm × 60cm, S2- 60cm × 45cm, S3- 60cm × 30cm and S4- 45cm × 45cm and three levels of fertigation viz., F1- Application of RDF with traditional method, F2- Application of 100% RDF through drip and F3- Application of 80% RDF through drip. Result of an experiment revealed that, maximum plant height was recorded under the spacing S3, while maximum plant spread, number of primary branches, fruit length and fruit breadth was recorded under the spacing S1. All the growth parameters were recorded maximum under fertigation level F2. The interaction effect of plant spacing and fertigation on plant height was recorded maximum under treatment combination S3F2. Maximum plant spread, number of primary branches per plant, fruit length and fruit breadth were recorded under treatment combination S1F2. The characters such as Days to flower initiation, Days to 50% flowering and duration of crop was found non-significant due to the effect of plant spacing and fertigation.
