Effect of different spacing and nitrogen levels on growth and yield of Bhiwapuri chilli
Abstract
An experimental study was conducted to evaluate the different spacing and nitrogen levels on growth and yield of Bhiwapuri chilli at Horticulture Section, College of Agriculture, Nagpur in 2023-24. The experiment was laid out in Factorial Randomized Block Design consisting of nine treatments replicated thrice. The result of experiment was in respect of growth parameters viz, plant height was recorded significantly maximum in spacing S1 (45×30 cm) as well as in nitrogen level N3 (175 kg N ha-1). Number of primary branches plant-1 and number of leaves plant-1 were recorded significantly maximum at spacing S3 (60×60 cm) as well as nitrogen level N3 (175 kg N ha-1) in Bhiwapuri chilli. For yield parameters i.e. weight of fruit, number of fruits plant-1 and yield plant-1 were recorded maximum at spacing S3 (60×60 cm) as well as nitrogen level N3 (175 kg N ha-1), while yield plot-1 and hectare-1 were recorded maximum at spacing S1 (45×30 cm) as well as nitrogen level N3 (175 kg N ha-1).
