Journal of Entomology and Zoology Studies · 2024 · Vol. 12(6) · pp. 204–205

Abstract

Iraota timoleon (Stoll, 1790), often referred to as silverstreak blue, was not reported till date in the Hooghly District of West Bengal, India. One previous photographic was recorded from Nadia District which lies on the western side of River Ganga. This big Lycaenidae butterfly was seen on camera early on April 22, 2024. The specimen that was captured on camera was a male that was flying relentlessly on the field. To evaluate the Silverstreak Blue Butterfly population structure in this area, more thorough research is needed.
