The effect of aging on skin cells in domestic rabbits, a histological study using a special dye

Abstract

The study provides a comprehensive analysis of the histological changes in the skin of domestic rabbits with age using Verhoff for collagen stain, which is considered a special dye. A group of histological staining techniques was used to examine skin samples taken from rabbits at different age stages. We were able to analyze and identify changes in the structure of the skin, including the dermis, epidermis, and subcutaneous fatty tissue. The results showed that aging leads to clear changes in the structure of the skin, including an increase in the thickness of the dermis and epidermis, a change in the distribution of collagen and elastic fibers, and the appearance of fatty aggregates. An increase in inflammatory cell activity in the skin has also been observed with age, indicating an effect of age on the skin inflammatory response. In addition, the study revealed changes in the composition of blood vessels in the skin, as an increase in the size and number of blood vessels was observed in aging skin tissue. These changes reflect the effects of aging on skin circulation, which may affect skin tissue nutrition and its ability to regenerate. This study provides a comprehensive understanding of the histological and functional changes in the skin of domestic rabbits with age. The results indicate that aging significantly affects skin structure and function, reinforcing the need to develop new therapeutic strategies to maintain skin health and delay signs of aging.
