A review: Explaining nanotechnology's potential impact on plant physiology and other agricultural branches through diagrams

International Journal of Advanced Biochemistry Research · 2024 · Vol. 8(12S) · pp. 1029–1037

Abstract

Nanotechnology represents a revolutionary frontier in agriculture, offering innovative solutions to address challenges such as resource constraints, climate change, and increasing food demand. This review explores the transformative impact of nanotechnology on plant physiology and various agricultural branches through the integration of diagrams and data. The use of nanomaterials, including ZnO, TiO2, and AgNPs, in applications such as seed priming, foliar sprays, and soil enhancement, has demonstrated improvements in germination, biomass accumulation, nutrient uptake, and stress tolerance. Furthermore, advancements in nanosensors, nanopesticides, and nano-based packaging contribute to enhanced crop productivity, food safety, and environmental sustainability. Despite its promising potential, the adoption of nanotechnology in agriculture requires addressing environmental and health concerns through rigorous research and regulations. This review emphasizes the need for a balanced approach, particularly in regions like India, to leverage nanotechnology for sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural practices.
