Effect of different spacing and fertilizer levels on vegetative parameters of daisy (Aster amellus L.) cv. Purple Multipetal

Abstract

An experiment was carried out in the Department of Floriculture and Landscaping, Kittur Rani Channamma College of Horticulture, Arabhavi, under UHS, Bagalkot, to study the effect of different levels of spacings and fertilizer on daisy (Aster amellus L.) cv. Purple Multipetal, with three different spacings (30 x 20 cm, 30 x 30 cm, and 40 x 30 cm) and fertilizer levels of F1:105:131.25:112.5 NPK kg/ha, F2:140:175:150 NPK kg/ha and F3:175:218.75:187.5 NPK kg/ha were performed as a treatment. The results revealed that spacing and fertilizer had significant effect on daisy, closer spacing 30 x 20 cm recorded maximum plant height (81.55 cm), while, 40 x 30 cm spacing recorded maximum number of suckers per plant (15.84). In fertilizer levels, F3:218.75:187.5 NPK kg/ha recorded maximum growth parameters such as plant height (78.43 cm) and number of suckers (15.38) The interaction of S3F3 achieved better growth parameters in daisy.
