Influence of various diet on development of factitious host Corcyra cephalonica (Stainton)

Abstract

The present experiment was conducted during of 2023-24 in Biocontrol laboratory Entomology section, College of Agriculture, Nagpur. The experiment was laid out completely randomized design with nine experimental dietry formulations were prepared with the objective to study the influence of various on development of factitious host Corcyra cephalonica (Stainton). The parameters studied in present research work were larval, pupal period, adult longevity, development period and fecundity. The result revealed that the treatment T8 having dietry combination of Bajra + Groundnut (100 g) having the shortest larval period (31.13 days) pupal period (6.11 days) and developmental period (44.6 days) along with highest adult longevity (7.36 days) and fecundity (314.36). The obtained results provide suitable information for mass rearing of C. cephalonica.
