Effect of dietary supplementation of black cumin (Nigella sativa) and garlic (Allium sativum L.) powder on cumulative feed consumption of broilers

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of dietary supplementation with black cumin (Nigella sativa) and garlic (Allium sativum L.) powders on the live weight gain of broilers. A total of 240 broiler chicks were divided into six groups, with various combinations of black cumin, garlic, and antibiotic growth promoter Enramycin. Weekly weight assessments were conducted over six weeks. Results showed that groups supplemented with Enramycin and a combination of 2% black cumin and 1.5% garlic powder achieved the highest weight gains, suggesting that herbal additives could replace antibiotics in enhancing broiler growth performance.
