Genetic variability, character association and genetic divergence in ridge gourd (Luffa acutangula (L.) Roxb.)
Abstract
The present study was conducted at the College of Horticulture and Forestry, Acharya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture & Technology, Kumarganj, Ayodhya during the summer season of 2022-23. Plant material consisted of 31 genotypes of ridge gourd including 1 check namely Arka Parsan in randomized block design of 3x3m2 with three replications. Evaluation was done for different yield and quality traits. Among the test entries, range for marketable yield per plant varied from 0.53-0.91. Maximum yield plant was recorded in NDRG-6 (0.91) followed by NDRG-5(0.76) and NDRG- 7 (0.73). The minimum fruit yield plant was recorded in NDRG-1 (0.53) followed by VRRG- 08-2017 (0.55) and VRRG-83 (0.57).
