How do NCERT and SCERT, Odisha focused on outcome based education: A comparative content analysis of political science text book class -VI

Abstract

The goal of the current study was to compare the Panchayati Raj system between NCERT and SCERT, Odisha, as a topic in the class VI Political Science text book. Researcher has chosen the Panchayati Raj system as one of the study topics for this purpose, drawing from a political science textbook produced by NCERT & SCERT, Odisha. The study of the content is qualitative. The study's conclusions showed that 55% of the NCERT textbook's content is missing from the SCERT, Odisha textbook, and that 45% of the contents in both textbooks are identical in type. 75% of the pictures in the SCERT textbook include examples that demonstrate gender neutrality; the other portions are biassed, in contrast to the NCERT Textbook covers 66% in that aspect. The NCERT textbook's material focused on instilling a variety of objectives, including knowledge (57%), comprehension (28%), applications (14%), and skills (14%), whereas the SCERT textbook's content was composed of 94% knowledge.
