Abstract

Introduction: Sjogren's syndrome has been described as an inflammatory disease of the salivary and lacrimal glands characterized by typical dry mouth symptoms, dry eyes and lymphocytic infiltration of the glandular tissues. Objective: To analyze the literature on the characteristics of Sjogren's syndrome regarding its prevalence, risk factors, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment.
