Abstract
The present study provides the taxonomic information on two deepsea caridean shrimps Plesionika alcocki and Plesionika narval. P. alcocki is the new record from the southeast coast of India (fishing off Bay of Bengal, 84740"N, 7809'37"E) obtained in the depth of 200-300 m. The species P. narval obtained from Kalamuku fish landing centre (fishing off Arabian Sea, 959'02.91"N 7614'33.14"E) from deepsea bottom trawlers between 250-300 m depth. In addition to this the phylogenetic tree of 16S and COI mitochondrial genes of the Indian Plesionika was provided.
