Effect of several doses of boron and thio-urea on morpho-physiological characters and harvest index of wheat varieties in different sowing conditions
Abstract
In order to study the effect of boron and thiourea foliar application on morpho- physiological characters and harvest index of wheat cultivars. Two field experiments (2013-14 and 2014-15 in Rabi season) were conducted at Experimental Research Farm, Nawabganj of Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology Kanpur, India. This experiments was replicated in three replication with split-split plot design. Total experimental treatments included sowing dates as main plot (D1- Timely sowing, D2- Late sowing), four varieties (V1: K- 607, V2: K-402, V3: K-7903, V4: K-9533) as subplot and foliar applied boron (T1- Boron 0.2%, T2- Boron 0.5%) and thio-urea (T3- Thiourea 500ppm, T4- Thiourea 1000ppm) with T0- Control as sub-sub plot so, these total combinations were 40 treatments. The result showed that DMP at 45 and 85 DAS, chlorophyll content, chlorophyll fluorescence and HI mostly found significantly high in timely sowing date D1 (257.4 mg and 1.11g, 2.20, 0.862, 36.95), variety V2 (263.4 mg & 1.03g, 2.14, 0.866, 36.88), treatment T3 (257.3mg & 1.01g, 2.34,0.874, 36.88), D1xV2 (275.6mg & 1.13g, 2.24, 0.878, 38.46), D1xT3 (264.3 mg & 1.27g, 2.43, 0.877, 37.86), V2xT3 (272.0 mg & 1.10g, 2.40, 0.869, 37.73) and D1xV2xT3 (284.7mg & 1.22g, 2.50, 0.893, 39.30) in experimental season 2013-14.
