Economics of apple based value added products
Abstract
The present investigation was undertaken in the Department of Horticulture, Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences Allahabad. The experiment was laid out Complete Randomized Design with 10 treatments and 3 replications. The study was compared of one cultivar of Apple i.e. Maharaji and 3 Value additions (Pistachionut, Walnut and Chirongi nut). The highest cost benefit ratio (1:1.86) was recorded in T3 (Standard recipe + Pistachio nut 15%) followed by T6 (Standard recipe + Walnut 15%) was (1:1.77). However, all the other treatments were also significantly superior over the treatments. The lowest cost benefit ratio (1:1.43) was recorded in T7 (Standard recipe + Chirongi 5%). The maximum net return and cost benefit ratio is recorded in T3 followed by T6. T7 (Standard recipe + Chirongi 5%) has lowest cost net return and cost benefit ratio.
