Abstract

The present study was conducted to investigate “diversity of fish fauna of Halali reservoir at Raisen/Vadisha”.For the time period of 5 months from July-November, 2016. During the present study, total 23 fish species were recorded from Halali reservoir. Cypriniformes formed the major portion of the Icthyofauna. Diversity of Cypriniformes was relatively high and was followed by Siluriformes. The sequence of the species abundance was Cypriniformes > Siluriformes > Perciformes > Anguilliformes > Beloniformes > Osteoglossiformes. The total 23 fish species were recorded under 6 order and 7 families. 12 species of order Cypriniformes, 4 species of order Siluriformes, 4 species of order Perciformes, 1 species of order Anguilliformes, 1 species of order Beloniformes and 1 species of Osteoglossiformes was recorded during the course of study.
