Helminths, Arthropods and Protozoa of Domesticated Animals

Abstract

This seventh edition is a continuation of earlier editions of Monnig's Veterinary Helminthology and Entomology first published in 1934. The fourth and fifth editions were authored by Geoffrey Lapage. All parasitologists who have used Soulsby's sixth edition will need only the announcement of its availability to be persuaded to acquire the new edition.The table of contents is at once an outline of the classification of parasites and an index to the taxonomic categories extending from phyla to genera. Therefore, the order of presentation is zoological or taxonomic, with main sections on helminths, arthropods and protozoa in that sequence. This offers the advantage of dealing with biologically related forms together, and this largely accounts for the wide and thorough coverage within the limits of only 759 pages. Information has been added in essentially all sections and new sections have been added to include parasites and parasitic diseases of fish, both commercially farmed and aquarium bred, and of some wild animals and exotic pets.
