Analysis of LePage’s test applied to the simple tree alternative

Abstract

This research analyses both components of the extension of LePage’s test applied to the Simple Tree Alternative (Alsubie and Magel 2020a) [1, 2] for three underlying distributions (Normal, Exponential, and T (3). Powers are estimated for 3 and 4 populations. Powers are estimated for both individual component tests and the combined test for cases in which the means are different and the variances are the same; the variances are different and the means are the same; and both the variances and means are different. This research would like to address the question as to when the combined test should be used and whether or not the underlying distribution would make a difference in this decision.
