Weed management strategies in soybean: Challenges and management

Abstract

Comprehensive Strategies of Weed Management in Soybean Crop. The paper is on identification and control of major weed species that include grasses and sedges as well as broad-leaved weeds. Different control methods and their effectiveness have been analyzed, such as integrated weed management (IWM), combining chemical, mechanical, and biological methods of control. Results indicate an up to 95% percent decrease in weeds and an increase of 45% in the yield in comparison with untreated controls. Environmental and economic implications are assessed, and it suggests that though chemical herbicides provide short-term control, sustainable management in the long term needs a balanced approach involving prevention, biological control, and cultural practices. Adaptation of management plans on a site-specific basis is recommended for best outcomes.
