Abstract

The study was new learning experience for the researcher. The aim of the to Assess the Effectiveness of Planned Teaching Programme on Knowledge of Practice Regarding Medication Error and It's Prevention in Childrens Among the Nursing Student at Selected Hospital of Banaskantha District, Gujarat. prior to the administration of PTP, (62.5%) of the practice. sample had poor Knowledge of Practice (score: 0-11) regarding Medication Errors and Its prevention in childrens. While Average Knowledge of Practice (score: 12-22) was observed in 37.5% of the sample and 00% have Good Knowledge of Practice (score 23-32). In the post-test there was marked improvement in the Knowledge of Practice of the sample with majority (70%) gained average Knowledge of Practice and (30%) gained good Knowledge. The pretest mean score on Knowledge of Practice is 10.51+2.72 and post test 21.28+-3.09 respectively. The 't' value is 24.15 which is greater than the table value 1.990. Descriptive and inferential statistics methods were used to analyze the data. The mean pre Knowledge of Practice score 10.51 and the mean post Knowledge of Practice score 21.28 Conclusion: The main conclusion from this present study is that most of the Nursing Students had poor knowledge regarding Medication Errors and It's Preventionin pre-test and had improved to get extent after intervention which was revealed in post-test. This shows the imperative need to understand the effectiveness of planned teaching programme in improvement of knowledge regarding Medication Error among Selected Nursing Students.
