Integration of Artificial Intelligence tools in education: Impact on student learning and attitudes

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become an important component of the modern academic environment. It makes learning more interactive, flexible, and personalized by enabling students to access AI-based platforms, applications, and tools that assist in understanding complex topics, practical skills, and learning at an individual pace. The present study examines the awareness and use of artificial intelligence tools among college students. A survey was conducted among 402 students, the study analyses awareness, sources of information about AI, types of AI tools used, purposes of use, frequency of use. Descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage were applied. The findings reveal that 93.8% of students are aware of AI tools, with awareness mainly developed through the internet (46.5%) and social media (39.1%). The study also indicates that 84.8% of students actively use AI tools, with 38.8% using them daily and 35.6% using them weekly for academic purposes. Overall, the study highlights the growing role of AI tools in supporting learning and academic activities among college students. These findings suggest the need for educational institutions to promote responsible and guided use of AI tools to enhance learning outcomes and digital literacy among students.
