Evaluation of growth, yield attributes, yield and economics analysis components in pre released genotypes of sweet sorghum under different fertilizer levels in Marathwada region of Maharashtra
Abstract
A field experiment was conducted during Kharif season of 2022-23 at AICRP On Sorghum, VNMKV., Parbhani. The experiment was laid out with split plot design and replicated thrice. The Main plot consists of three different fertilizer levels viz.F1: Control (No Fertilizer), F2: 50% RDF (40:20:20 NPK Kg ha-1), F3: 100% RDF (80:40:40 NPK Kg ha-1) and F4: 150% RDF (120:60:60 NPK Kg ha-1) and subplots Genotypes (3)of sweet sorghum viz. G1: SPV-2789, G2: CSV-24SS and G3: CSH-22SS were sown at spacing 60 cm×15cm. The plot size was 5.4m×4.8m. The result indicated that Application of fertilizer F4:150%RDF(120:60:60) recorded significantly highest plant height plant-1, higher number of functional leaves plant-1, maximum leaf area plant-1 (cm2), maximum dry matter plant -1(g) and fresh biomass plant- higher Stem girth (cm),milliable stalk yield tha-1, Juice yiled (KL ha-1) GMR and NMR and found significantly superior over application of fertilizer F2:50%RDF(40:20:20) and F1:0%RDF (00:00:00) and was found at par with application of fertilizer F3:100%RDF(80:40:40).Genotype G1 SPV-2789 recorded significantly highest plant height, functional leaves plant-1, leaf area plant-1 (dm2) total dry matter accumulation plant-1 and fresh biomass plant-1 higher stem girth (cm),milliable stalk yield (tha-1), Juice yield (KL ha-1) GMR and NMR of Sweet sorghum which was found at par with genotype G2 CSV-24SS and significantly superior over genotype G3 CSV-22SS. Days to 50% flowering, Days to physiological maturity and brix (%) was not significantly affected by fertilizer levels and sweet sorghum genotypes
