Application of artificial intelligence in silkworm rearing

International Journal of Advanced Biochemistry Research · 2026 · Vol. 10(3) · pp. 443–448

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) is emerging as a transformative tool in modern agriculture and sericulture, offering innovative solutions for improving productivity and management efficiency. In silkworm rearing, AI technologies can assist farmers in monitoring environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, and ventilation, which are critical for the healthy growth of silkworms. Smart sensors, machine learning algorithms, and image-based monitoring systems help detect diseases, predict growth stages, and optimize feeding schedules. AI-driven data analysis enables early identification of stress or infection in silkworms, allowing timely intervention and reducing crop losses. Additionally, automated systems can provide real-time recommendations to farmers, improving decision-making and resource management. The integration of AI with Internet of Things (IoT) devices further enhances precision sericulture by enabling remote monitoring and control of rearing houses. Overall, the application of AI in silkworm rearing has the potential to increase silk productivity, improve quality, and support sustainable sericulture practices.
