Miasm in modern clinical practice

Abstract

The concept of miasm, introduced by Dr Samuel Hahnemann, in his chronic disease theory explained in "The chronic diseases, their peculiar nature and their homeopathic cure". He described miasm as a fundamental cause underlying chronic diseases, influencing the patients susceptibility and disease expression. In modern clinical practice miasm is interpreted as a constitutional predisposition similar to genetic tendency, immune disfunction or chronic pathological patterns. In clinical practice, miasmatic analysis assists the physician in understanding the depth, progression, and prognosis of diseases rather than focusing solely on pathological diagnosis.
