Parental perspectives on physical education curriculum design in the post COVID educational context: An analytical study

Abstract

Physical Education (PE) plays a vital role in promoting holistic development among school children. This study examined parental perspectives on PE curriculum design in the post-COVID context using a descriptive survey of 104 parents. Percentage analysis, one-way ANOVA, Tukey post-hoc test, and independent sample t-test were applied at 0.05 significance level. Results showed strong parental support for inclusive and activity-based PE curriculum components. A significant difference was found across parental age groups (F=7.3624, p=0.001), while no significant differences emerged across division, location, or school affiliation. The findings highlight the need to integrate parental feedback in curriculum reforms to address sedentary behavior and promote balanced child development.
