Managing androgenic alopecia with individualised homeopathic medicine and biochemic remedies- An evidence based single case report

Abstract

Androgenic alopecia, is the most common type of genetic and progressive hair loss disorder in men. A 40 year old male presented with progressive thinning of hair, vertex hair loss - Norwood III-IV, diagnosing it as Androgenic alopecia and marked low confidence which was treated with Individualised Homeopathic Medicine along with biochemic remedies. The patient was given Lycopodium with Natrum muraticum and Silicea without any external application. A significant reduction in hairfall was noted at 2 months followed by appearance of tiny hair on the vertex by the 4th month and at the 9th month there was visible regrowth noted. Subjectively, the patient improved his body image, more confident and reduced social anxiety. This case suggests that individualised homeopathic medicine along with biochemical remedy can be effective in the treatment of Androgenic alopecia, not only improving hair parameters but also positively impacting psychological well-being and body image.
