Mutual funds in the investment landscape: Understanding investor’s perception
Abstract
Background: The exciting nature of investing itself draws more and more investors. Regardless of their social, professional, or educational background, investors are constantly inspired by this unique and fascinating method of making money. However, before making an investment, an investor's awareness, perspective, knowledge, and preferences are all crucial.Purpose: The purpose of the study is to investigate the perception of investors towards mutual funds and effect of demographic variables on investors perception.Methodology: The study is both descriptive and exploratory. The data collection of 60 respondents collected through well designed questionnaire. The structured questionnaire was used to gather primary data from individuals who had made mutual fund investments. Statistical procedures such as descriptive statistics, reliability tests, and ANOVA were used to analyse the primary data that was gathered. Findings: According to the study, opinions about mutual funds may be more influenced by individual variables than by demographic traits. All demographic groups had similar opinions regarding the simplicity of investing in mutual funds, their liquidity, the advantages they offer small and medium-sized investors, their risk levels, their competent management, and their diversification.
