Effect of micronutrients and organic fertilizers as foliar spray on growth and yield on Palak (Beta vulgaris var. bengalensis) var. Arka Anupama
Abstract
The present investigation entitled “Effect of micronutrients and organic fertilizers as foliar spray on growth and yield on Palak (Beta vulgaris var. bengalensis) var. Arka Anupama” was conducted at premises of Pt. Kishori Lal Shukla College of Horticulture and Research Station, Rajnandgaon (C.G.) Department of Vegetable Science under Mahatma Gandhi University of Horticulture & Forestry, Durg (C.G.) during Summer Season 2024-25. The experiment consisting of twelve treatments (T1 - RDF+ Water spray, T2- RDF+0.5% FeSo4, T3- RDF+0.5% ZnSo4, T4 -RDF+ 0.5% Boric acid, T5 - RDF+ 0.01%Humic acid, T6 - RDF+3% Vermiwash, T7 -RDF + 3% Panchgavya, T8- RDF+3% Jeevamrita, T9- RDF+3% Moringa leaf extract, T10 - RDF+3% Aloevera extract, T11- RDF+3% Seaweed Extract, T12 - RDF+3%Neem leaf extract) and laid under Randomized Block design (RBD) with three replication. Data collected on leaf yield and components was studied for different parameters which indicates the presence of sufficient effect among the different treatments. the effect of treatment T9 (RDF +3% Moringa leaf extract) was observed best for growth and yield parameter like maximum plant height (17.65cm), Number of leaves per plant (12.38), Leaf length (14.62cm), Leaf width (6.23cm), Leaf area (27.33cm2), Fresh weight of leaves per plant (11.40g), Dry weight of leaf (11.90g), Leaf yield per plot (2.85kg), Leaf yield per hectare (108.02 q). Minimum value was observed T1 (RDF +Water spray) for all parameters. on the the basis of economic, treatment (T9 - RDF+3% Moringa leaf extract) was found superior benefit cost ratio (1.88) due to lowest input cost and production of higher leaf yield.
