Evaluation of high-sensitivity troponin I as a predictive marker for adverse outcomes in patients with acute coronary syndrome: A prospective cohort research

Abstract

Can a single biomarker reliably predict which patients with acute coronary syndrome will experience adverse cardiac events? This prospective cohort research investigated the prognostic value of high-sensitivity troponin I (hs-TnI) in predicting adverse outcomes among patients presenting with acute coronary syndrome. A total of 582 consecutive patients admitted to the cardiac care unit between March 2022 and September 2023 were enrolled. Participants underwent standardized assessment including serial hs-TnI measurements at admission and at 3, 6, and 12 hours. The primary endpoint was a composite of major adverse cardiac events including cardiovascular death, non-fatal myocardial infarction, and urgent revascularization within 180 days.
