Influence of different rates of SSP, neem cake and vermicompost on yield of pea (Pisum sativum L.)

Abstract

A field experiment was conducted at Himalayan University, Jollang, Arunachal Pradesh during the rabi season of 2020-2021 to evaluate the effect of vermicompost and neem cake on the yield of field pea. The experiment was laid out in a Randomized Block Design with six treatments and four replications. Treatment consisted of different combinations of vermicompost (0, 1 and 2 kg), neem cake (0, 0.25 and 0.5 t ha-1), along with a uniform application of single super phosphate (SSP) at 4 g per plot. Results indicated that combined application of vermicompost and neem cake significantly enhanced pod yield and overall yield of field pea compared to control. Among the treatments, T2 (50% vermicompost + 50% neem cake) recorded the highest pod yield per plot and yield performance, suggesting the effectiveness of integrated organic nutrient management in improving field pea productivity.
