Individualized homoeopathic management of systemic lupus erythematosus with coexisting hypothyroidism: A case report

Abstract

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic, autoimmune, multisystem inflammatory disorder characterized by periods of exacerbations and remissions. It affects connective tissue and may involve the skin, joints, kidneys, cardiovascular system, nervous system, and hematological components. The individualized homoeopathic approach in SLE aims at restoring balance of the vital force, reducing disease activity, improving quality of life, and preventing relapses. By addressing the patient’s constitutional, mental, and physical dimensions, homoeopathy provides a holistic, personalised, and sustainable care in chronic autoimmune disorders like SLE. Case Summary: A 37 years old female presented with severe generalized muscle and joint pains, headache, pain in interphalangeal joints, stiffness and numbness all over the body, low backache, reduced appetite, constipation, scanty menses, disturbed sleep, raised reddish purple spots with itching and burning which has been improved and managed with individualized homeopathic approach.
