Homoeopathy as a complementary therapeutic option in hyperuricemia: Scope and effectiveness

International Journal of Homoeopathic Sciences · 2026 · Vol. 10(2) · pp. 370–373

Abstract

Hyperuricemia is a metabolic disorder characterised by elevated serum uric acid levels that exceed the normal physiological range. It is a significant risk factor for gout, renal calculi, chronic kidney disease, and cardiovascular morbidity. The prevalence of hyperuricemia has increased globally due to changing lifestyle patterns, dietary habits, obesity, and reduced physical activity. Conventional management primarily involves urate-lowering agents and anti-inflammatory drugs, which may produce adverse effects on prolonged use. Homoeopathy, with its holistic and individualised approach, offers a complementary and alternative therapeutic option aimed at correcting the underlying metabolic imbalance rather than merely suppressing biochemical parameters.
