Effect of phosphorus (Soil application) and zinc (Foliar application) on black gram (Vigna mungo (L.)

Abstract

A field experiment entitled Effect of Phosphorus (Soil application) and Zinc (Foliar Application) on growth, yield and quality of Black gram (Vigna mungo (L.) conducted during kharif 2024 at Agriculture farm, Suresh Gyan Vihar University, Jaipur on sandy loam soil. The maximum number of pods per plant, seed/pod, seed, straw and biological yield of black gram was recorded with 60 kg P/ha over Control and 20 kg P/ha, but remained statistically at par with 40 kg P/ha. Application of 0.75% Zinc spray produced number of pods per plant, seeds per pod, seed, straw and biological yield over control and 0.25% zinc and remained statistically at par with 0.50% zinc. Providing the highest net return of ? 45066, 60 kg P/ha followed by 45238, 36848 and 25070 by 40, 20 and control (kg P/ha), respectively. The per cent increase in the net return with 0.75, 0.50 and 0.25 zinc spray was to the extent of 54.39, 51.62 and 30.34 per cent by over control, respectively.
