Evaluation of bio-efficacy and phytotoxicity of SV CANTER on peas (Pisum sativum L.)
Abstract
A field experiment was conducted during Rabi 2023-24 at the Zonal Agricultural and Horticultural Research Station, Navile, Shivamogga, Karnataka, to evaluate the bio-efficacy and phytotoxic safety of SV CANTER on pea (Pisum sativum L.). The experiment was laid out in a randomized complete block design with five treatments and four replications. SV CANTER was applied as soil application at different dose levels (5, 10, 15 and 20 kg acre-1) and compared with an untreated control. Growth parameters, physiological attributes, yield components and phytotoxicity symptoms were recorded. Application of SV CANTER significantly improved plant height, leaf area index and chlorophyll content over control. The highest green pod yield (6.59 t ha-1) was recorded with 20 kg acre-1, registering a yield increase of 17.26% compared to control. No phytotoxic symptoms such as leaf scorching, wilting or epinasty were observed at any dose level. The study concludes that SV CANTER is safe and effective in enhancing growth and yield of pea under field conditions.
