Growth and instability of maize production in Telangana state

Abstract

Production of maize growth rate in Telangana state perceive mixed trend in all periods, inconsistent growth in production under maize crop. Telangana state has shown positive trend in Overall growth period of 5.17 percent over a fifteen years (2002-2017) which is positive highly significant at 1 per cent level of significance, in period-I, compound growth was 8.73 percent while in period-II it was shown negative growth of -8.54 per cent and period-III growth percent is declined with negative trend of -1.99 percent. it was also observed that, Telangana state has degree of variation of 31.40 per cent, the coefficient variation of production in all districts was higher than the variation of whole in Telangana state, As regards to whole Telangana state during period-I, period-II, period-III is 28.51 per cent, 26.19 per cent 14.60 per cent respectively which shows degree of variation was decreased throughout three periods. it was clear that all districts of Telangana state were failed to achieve the stability in maize production
