Abstract

The investigation entitled ‘Study the life cycle of shoot gall maker, Hypolamprus (=Betousa) stylophora (Swinhoe) in Indian gooseberry’ was conducted at Asalpur Farm, SKN College of Agriculture, Jobner (Rajasthan) during the year 2019 and 2020. The incubation period of eggs of shoot gall maker, H. stylophora was observed to be 5-7 days at ambient temperature, longevity of the caterpillar 21-27 days, pupal duration 9-12 days and adult longevity 6-10 days (female) and 6-9 days (male). The total life expectancy of male moth varied from 41-55 days (average 48.0+4.94 days) and that of female from 41-56 days (average 48.2+5.24 days) at a fluctuating temperature of 28.58+2.240C and relative humidity of 65.7+5.7%.
