Effect of organic and inorganic nutrients on growth and yield of summer green gram (Vigna radiata L.)

Abstract

The present investigation aimed to find out the “Effect of Organic and Inorganic Nutrients on Growth and Yield of Summer Green gram (Vigna Radiata L.) was carried out at Agronomy Research Farm of Mewar University, Gangrar, Chittorgarh, Rajasthan during summer season of 2024. The experiment was laid out in Factorial Randomized Block Design. Replicated thrice with 9 treatment combinations, comprising like Factor A: O1 FYM 10 t ha-1 O2 Vermicompost 5 t ha-1 O3 Rhizobium + Phosphate solubilising bacteria (PSB), Factor B: I1 50% RDF (20 kg N + 20 kg P2O5 ha-1)I2 75% RDF (30 kg N + 30 kg P2O5 ha-1) I3 100% RDF (40 kg N + 40 kg P2O5 ha-1). The application of various types of organic source was found most effective improve growth yield and quality parameter like maximum plant height (18.32, 21.98 and 25.84 cm), maximum number of branches (7.77, 9.93 and 12.60) at 30, 45 DAS and at harvest respectively, Highest number of pods per plant) (20.39), Highest pod length (8.64 cm), The highest grain yield (1.11 kg/ plot), Higher seed yield (1158.50 kg/ha), Higher biological yield (3409.07 kg/ha), Highest straw yield (2250.57 kg/ha),Highest harvest index (34.97%), Highest return was recorded (Rs.71265.39), Highest benefit: cost ratio was recorded with application of (Vermicompost 5 t ha-1) (2.16) was recorded with application of (Vermicompost 5 t ha-1). The application of various types of inorganic nutrients maximum plant height (25.04 cm) at harvest, maximum number of branches (7.53, 9.54 and 12.38), at 30, 45 DAS and at harvest, number of pod per plant (15.02), The maximum pod length (9.59 cm), Maximum grain yield per plot (1.07 kg /plot), highest grain yield (1110.07 kg/ha), higher biological yield (3409.07 kg/ha), highest straw yield (2250.57 kg/ha), higher Harvest index (34.01%), Net return higher (Rs. 66906.25) and benefit: cost ratio (2.04) were recorded 75% RDF (30 kg N + 30 kg P2O5 ha-1.
