Knowledge extent of students towards E-extension tools and it’s relationship with profile of students

Abstract

The present study assessed the knowledge extent of postgraduate students of Agricultural Extension Education regarding e-extension related components in State Agricultural Universities of Uttar Pradesh. A total of 76 respondents were selected using purposive sampling, and data were collected through a structured questionnaire administered via Google Forms. Analytical research design was followed for this research. The findings revealed that students possessed comparatively higher levels of knowledge in internet operation, email usage, video calling, smartphone applications, and agricultural knowledge portals such as Krishikosh and Shodhganga. However, partial to low knowledge levels were observed in advanced computer hardware operations and specialized software such as Corel Draw and Page Maker. Overall knowledge analysis indicated that a majority (51.31%) of students belonged to the medium knowledge category, followed by high (27.64%) and low (21.05%) categories. The study underscores the need for systematic capacity building and curriculum strengthening to enhance comprehensive e-extension competencies among future extension professionals for effective technology dissemination in Indian agriculture (Aker, 2011; Meera et al., 2004; Rao, 2015).
