Attitude of farmers towards restoration and management of tanks under Mission Kakatiya Programme in Telangana state

Abstract

The study was conducted to know the attitude of farmers towards restoration and management of tanks under Mission Kakatiya programme. Quasi-experimental research approach was followed for the study. The investigation was carried out in Karimnagar, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda, Siddipet and Badradri Kothhagudem districts of Telangana state. One mandal was selected from each district for the study. One village each selected randomly from each mandal separately for beneficiaries and non - beneficiaries. 30 farmers from each village were selected at random to make a sample of 180 respondents from beneficiary and non - beneficiary villages for the study. Findings with respect to attitude of farmers towards restoration and management of tanks revealed that majority of the beneficiary and non - beneficiary farmers had favourable and neutral attitude respectively and significance difference was there at 5 per cent level of probability between beneficiary and non - beneficiary farmers in attitude.
