Abstract

A field experiment entitled Effect of integrated nutrient management on growth and yield of pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum (L.) conducted during kharif 2024 at Agriculture farm, Suresh Gyan Vihar University, Jaipur on sandy loam soil. The experiment consisting control, 100% RDF, 75% RDF, 50% RDF, 50% RDF + 5 t FYM + Bio fertilizer, 50% RDF + 2.5 t FYM + Bio fertilizer, 75% RDF + 2.5 t FYM + Bio fertilizer, 75% RDF + 1.5 t Vermicompost + Bio fertilizer and 100% RDF + Biofertilizers. The total nine treatment combinations were tested in randomized block design with three replications. The maximum number of grains per ear, ear length, total and effective tillers, seed, straw and biological yield of pearl millet was recorded with 75% RDF + 1.5 t Vermicompost + Bio fertilizer over Control, 75% RDF, 50% RDF, 50% RDF + 5 t FYM + Bio fertilizer, 50% RDF + 2.5 t FYM + Bio fertilizer and 75% RDF + 2.5 t FYM + Bio fertilizer but remained statistically at par with 100% RDF and 100% RDF + Bio fertilizers. Providing the highest net return of Rs 81866, 75% RDF + 1.5 t Vermicompost + Bio fertilizer followed by 80100, 75397, 66351, 62901, 58405 and 50658 by 100% RDF + Bio fertilizers. 100% RDF, 75% RDF + 2.5 t FYM + Bio fertilizer, 50% RDF + 2.5 t FYM + Bio fertilizer, 50% RDF + 5 t FYM + Bio fertilizer and 50% RDF, respectively. Providing the highest net return of Rs 3.85, 75% RDF + 1.5 t Vermicompost + Bio fertilizer followed by 3.77, 3.13, 3.10 by 100% RDF + Bio fertilizers, 75% RDF + 2.5 t FYM + Bio fertilizer and 100% RDF respectively.
