Agriculture plays a vital role in ensuring food security for the country's vast populace. However, the sector faces considerable challenges posed by pests and diseases, which significantly impact crop yields. In response, farmers have increasingly turned to agrochemicals to mitigate these challenges and enhance productivity. Individuals in the pesticides and fertilizers industry need to understand the rules and follow them closely to make their operations run smoothly. Knowing these procedures helps manage legal risks, ensures compliance, and encourages the safe and responsible use of agricultural products. This paper explores the regulatory frameworks governing the registration, distribution, and sale of pesticides and fertilizers in India, relying primarily on secondary data from governmental acts, rules, and reputable sources. The study explains the thorough evaluation process conducted by the CIBRC, emphasizing toxicity and efficacy assessments, and outlines diverse registration categories for pesticides, including technical manufacturing and import registrations.
