Experimental nutrition research: Investigating the impact of nutritional deficiencies on human health

International Journal of Advanced Biochemistry Research · 2025 · Vol. 9(4) · pp. 1204–1207

Abstract

Nutritional deficiencies are a leading cause of various health problems worldwide, influencing both physical and mental well-being. While modern healthcare has largely focused on the treatment of diseases, understanding the role of nutrition in disease prevention remains critical. This research aims to investigate the impact of common nutritional deficiencies on human health, particularly focusing on their effects on immune function, metabolic processes, and overall health outcomes. We hypothesize that deficiencies in essential micronutrients such as vitamin D, iron, and iodine contribute significantly to the development of chronic diseases, including cardiovascular diseases, cognitive impairments, and immune dysfunctions. A combination of clinical studies, epidemiological data, and laboratory experiments were utilized to explore these relationships. By analyzing the dietary intake patterns of diverse populations and evaluating biomarkers associated with specific deficiencies, this research seeks to establish clear connections between nutrient inadequacies and the prevalence of certain diseases. The findings are expected to provide valuable insights for public health initiatives aimed at preventing nutrition-related diseases, particularly in low-income regions where such deficiencies are most prevalent. The research highlights the importance of early interventions through dietary improvements and supplementation in reducing the burden of chronic diseases associated with nutritional imbalances.
