Histopathological and immunohistochemical studies on epithelial neoplasms in bovines

Abstract

Epithelial bovine tumors constitute an important group of neoplastic disorders affecting cattle, arising from both glandular and surface epithelial tissues. Although overall prevalence varies with management systems and environmental conditions, these tumors can significantly influence animal health, productivity, and welfare. Continued research into molecular pathways, environmental influences, and host-pathogen interactions is essential for improving diagnostic accuracy, therapeutic outcomes, and overall control of epithelial tumors in bovine populations. The present research work was carried out to study incidence, histopathological and immunohistochemical characterization of bovine epithelial neoplasms and relationship between site and histological types of bovine neoplasms. Among epithelium neoplasm, 46 were arose from keratinocytes, (3 BN, 43 MN), 2 from apocrinegland (1BN, 1MN), and 1 from lacrimal gland (1MN). Inpoorly differentiated SCC, lacking intercellular desmosome, having little or no keratinization in such conditions p63 marker is used for confirmation of tumour. For occurrence of SCC eye region is most commonsite followed by horn region. crossbred animalsare more frequently affected than indigenous cattle and buffalo.
