Impact of Nano urea Application on Growth and Cocoon Yield of Mulberry Silkworm, Bombyx mori L.

International Journal of Agriculture and Food Science · 2025 · Vol. 7(12) · pp. 532–536

Abstract

An experiment was carried out at College of Temperate Sericulture, Mirgund SKUAST – Kashmir during spring, 2024 to know the Impact of Nano urea Application on Growth and Cocoon Yield of Mulberry Silkworm, Bombyx mori L. The study resulted in significant improvement in larval duration, larval weight, cocoon weight, shell weight, shell ratio, cocoon yield by weight, filament length and raw silk percentage. Among the different treatments T3(100% PK + 75% N Soil application + Nano urea foliar spray @ 4 ml L-1) emerged as best treatment by recording shortest larval duration (644.4hrs), highest larval weight (54.410 g), maximum cocoon weight (2.203 g), shell weight (0.500 g), shell ratio (22.690), cocoon yield by weight (20.528 kg), filament length (1161mts), raw silk percentage (17.920%).
