Canine skin tumours: A study on occurrence and distribution pattern

Abstract

The objective of the study was to record the occurrence of spontaneous canine skin tumours and their sex, breed and age-wise distribution. A total of 68 cases of canine skin tumours collected at time of necropsy or submitted as biopsy from the year of 2018 to 2020, were recorded and confirmed histopathologically. The non descript dogs being the most susceptible (33.89%) followed by Labrador (30.50%). Majority of the tumour cases were occurred from 5-9 year of age. Histologically, malignant types in 48.52% and benign tumours in 44.71% cases were recorded.
