Optimizing soybean seed yield through intercropping: A research on three soybean varieties
Abstract
Intercropping, the practice of growing two or more crops in proximity, has been recognized for its potential to improve agricultural sustainability and crop yields. This research investigates the optimization of soybean (Glycine max) seed yield through intercropping with three different soybean varieties. Soybean is a crucial crop due to its high protein content, but its yield can be significantly influenced by intercropping systems, which can enhance soil fertility, reduce pest pressure, and increase biodiversity. In this research, we explore the effects of different intercropping combinations on soybean growth, focusing on growth traits as well as seed yield of three distinct soybean varieties. The research was conducted in a controlled experimental setup, where each intercropping system was assessed for its impact on the agricultural performance of the soybean varieties. The results are intended to provide insights into the viability of these intercropping systems for optimizing soybean production, especially under varying environmental conditions. Furthermore, this research aims to contribute to sustainable agricultural practices by recommending the most effective intercropping systems that can enhance soybean yield and quality. The findings will serve as a valuable resource for farmers seeking sustainable, high-yielding soybean cultivation techniques.
