Canine juvenile cellulitis in a spitz pup and its successful therapeutic intervention: A case report

Abstract

A 2 months old spitz was reported to Veterinary Clinical Complex (VCC), College of Veterinary Science, AAU, Khanapara with swelling of face, multifocal alopecic patches, bilateral ocular discharges, pyogranulomatous and ulcerative lesions on neck, pinnae and loin region. The dog was vaccinated with modified live vaccine 15 days prior to the occurrence of clinical sign. Blood RE and impression smear examination was done. The case was treated with oral dose of prednisolone for three weeks and there was a significant recovery of the puppy with complete healing of ulcerative lesions. Based on clinical and cytology findings as well as response to treatment, the case was diagnosed as Canine juvenile cellulitis.
