Evaluation of e-governance policy implications on agricultural development in Karnataka state

Abstract

In the present scenario, E-Governance policies are initiated by the government in designing, implementing, controlling, monitoring, and sustaining the E-Projects and citizen-centric delivery of governmental services in a transparent, accountable, and responsive manner to attain objectives of overall development of an economy. In Karnataka, with respect to E-governance policies, government has a separate wing in the department of personnel administration and reforms known as e- Governance cell has been entrusted with the responsibility of designing, formulating and implementing E-Governance initiatives. The agricultural sector facing many issues and challenges like lack of access to timely information on weather conditions, market price, availability of better quality of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, machineries and lack of timely advisories on entire crop management in the agricultural sector. The E-governance initiatives has major impact on reaching governmental beneficiary schemes on the agricultural sector and assists in inclusive development of an economy. This research paper analysis the E-governance policies on agricultural sector and its implications on the agricultural development in the Karnataka state.
