Effect of integrated nutrient management on growth and yield of potato + maize intercropping system in north Bihar region
Abstract
A field trial carried out in the Rabi season of 2020-21 at the Tirhut College of Agriculture Farm, Dholi (Muzaffarpur), Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa, evaluated how integrated nutrient management influenced growth and yield of a potato-maize intercropping system. Both crops were grown in a 1:1 intercrop maintaining full populations. Integrated nutrient regimes significantly improved vegetative growth and yields. The treatment combining 125% RDF for both potato and maize with 20 t FYM ha⁻¹ (T14) produced the greatest plant height, leaf number, LAI, dry matter and final yields for both species. Treatments T12, T13 and T10 showed results statistically similar to T14.
